Zely Smekhov was born in 1939 in Moscow, USSR. Graduated from Surikov Art Institute, Moscow, in 1962 . Studied at Moscow Academy of Art under supervision of Prof. Ye.Kibrik. Member of the the USSR Artists Association (1971). Member of the the International Association of Art (IAC AIAP UNESCO - 1992). Repatriated to Israel in 1991. His works can be found in: museums of the former USSR, as well as in the private collections in Israel, USA, Canada.

Zely Smekhov:

Generalization - at least, generalization in the realm of art - is an indication of lightmindedness. Anyway, we tend to generalizations at every step and never consider ourselves light-minded.
